This unique, ethnically influenced, pendant has a classic shape but has definitely been given a modern twist.
The circular bezzel is hand made in polymer clay which has been coated in copper toned mica pigments to give it an antique copper metal finish. This encases the dome of the pendant which has been produced using a technique which is inspired by the dichroic work of the glass maker....this being polymer clay is, however, so much more lightweight. Gold leaf and ink is used as an inclusion in this technique, the design is protected by a covering of translucent clay which is then fired, sanded multiple times and buffed to a glossy finish, this helps to achieve real clarity and enhance the vivid colours that are encased within. Deep and vivacious forest greens swirl with azure and turquoise blues of the sky to create a truely one of a kind piece that cannot be repeated.
The pendant has been hung onto a thong of faux suede in a complimentary green tone which is embelished by individual rings in varying sizes of copper wire. The necklace has a small extension cable to give the wearer greater variety of length and is fastened by a simple and easy to use hook fastener.
